ABOUT CENTER

The Siemens-Centre of Excellence has been established at PDEU to cater the need of skilled man power in the automotive industry. The Siemens Centre of Excellence is established under an agreement between Industries Commissionerate - Government of Gujarat, Siemens Industry Software (INDIA) Pvt. Ltd. & Pandit Deendayal Energy University.

 

Center of Excellence

The Siemens-Centre of Excellence has been established at PDEU to cater the need of skilled man power in the automotive industry. The Siemens Centre of Excellence is established under an agreement between Industries Commissionerate - Government of Gujarat, Siemens Industry Software (INDIA) Pvt. Ltd., & Pandit Deendayal Energy University.

The CoE has been inaugurated on 26th September 2014 by Shri Saurabhbhai Patel Honourable Minister, Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals, Mines & Minerals, Cottage Industries, Government of Gujarat in the presences of dignitaries from Government of Gujarat, Industries and esteemed institutes.

Siemens Center of Excellence is equipped with the latest design, digital manufacturing, simulation, and lifecycle management soft-ware from Siemens Industry Software, and state of art industrial equipment from Siemens Industry. It also have the latest computerized numerical controllers (CNC), programmable logic controllers (PLC), computer integrated manufacturing unit (CIM) comprising of CNC milling and turning machines, automatic guided vehicles (AGV), industrial robots, automatic storage and retrieval systems, vision inspection system for quality control, CIM controllers and software, rapid prototyping machines, etc., all integrated using Siemens Total Integrated Automation (TIA) portal. It has 7 fully-equipped laboratories that will be staffed with instructors trained and certified by Siemens.

 

Objectives

CoE is mainly for skill development, we train you on Industrial standard software from the range of Basics of modeling to Virtual manufacturing concepts on Siemens software and basic and advanced concepts on maintaining and commissioning power systems and motors.

  • Technical Education Curriculum more updated and aligned with Industry requirements.

Siemens in India is strengthening initiatives for skill up-gradation of the industrial workforce. Center of Excellence (CoE) is a program started by Siemens under the joint ventures of Government of Gujarat supported by Design Tech. First of its kind in the country, these CoE’s will address diverse industry segments like Automotive, Industrial machinery, industrial automation, Aerospace & defense, and Shipbuilding. It has been started at different locations across the state. One such among them has been established in PDEU. It has different courses that have industrial application for skill development and knowledge up gradation in the field of Automotive. It has a state of the art facility for quality training in new technologies in the market.

MCMT Laboratory has a state of the art facility for getting trained latest milling and turning CNC  controller, also it has 31 axis SINUMERIK 840D SL  controller which is the latest product from Siemens.

MCMT lab is equipped with the simulators that are required before CNC machining software.

Automated Guided  Vehicle (AGV) Material handling system with integration to conveyors, manufacturing assembly stations and ASRS. Built-in guidance and routing for material flow and obstacle sensing to avoid accidents.
Automatic  Storage &  Retrieval System (ASRS) Transfer station will be provided to accept the pallet from the ASRS   platform. Transfer station   conveyor or AGV.
ARISTO XT ROBOT Aristo is a 6 axis articulated robotic arm for doing various type of jobs like loading unloading and handling the work piece conditions.
ASSEMBLY STATION The station consists of linear conveyor, pick & place units, pneumatic process control for bearing and shaft assembly with Vision Inspection System.

Rapid Prototyping Laboratory

Rapid prototyping is a group of techniques used to quickly fabricate a scale model of a physical part or assembly using three-dimensional computer aided design (CAD) data.

  • Rapid prototyping refers to physical objects that are automatically constructed with the aid of additive manufacturing technology.
  • Rapid prototyping in its earlier days was applied to production of models and prototype parts.
  • Advance Additive manufacturing facility to print big, tough and functional models in ABS
  • Used in a wide range of industries, Rapid prototyping allows companies to turn innovative ideas into successful end products rapidly and efficiently.

Instrument Description
Simatic PCS7 SIMATIC PCS 7 BOX contains all the components of a control system automation system, operator station and engineering system in a compact design of an industrial PC. It combines a unique scalable architecture with powerful engineering to old and a wide variety of additional functions such as alarm management, process safety and asset management.
Instrumentation Rack Instrumentation rack having the following instruments Mass6000, Sitrans FU060, Sitrans P300 and FUS3300 (Transmitter), Sitrans P, Mass2100 and Mag5000 (Transmitter). Prob LU, Pointer, position Actuator. These are used for measuring flow rate, pressure measurement, temperature, Volumetric & mass flow measurement, Level measurement, level measurement using Ultrasonic, point level measurement, Position control respectively.

 

Automation Laboratory

Automation lab is used to understand the role of programmable logic controllers in complex mechatronic systems, modules and subsystems.

Electrical Lab helps to understand the basic functions physical properties of the electrical components like motor control units and LV switchgear components and also helps to understand the role in the system.

About Laboratory

  • AC drive controller for conveyer belts, Wind Turbine, heavy applications like Cranes, Hoists etc.
  • Air circuit-breakers for general protection (of plants, of user complexes, of electric lines) and as protection circuit-breakers of electrical machines (generators, motors, transformers, capacitors).
  • Soft starter for smooth starting and stopping operations.
  • Motor management system for low voltage motors, motor feeder and automation system.
  • Motor protection, monitoring and control to increase the process control quality and reduce costs.
